Anglican Deanery of Oxford
The Anglican Deanery of Oxford consists of 13 congregations organized into 8 parishes. It is east of London, Ontario and the Brough and Wellington Deaneries. Regional dean for Oxford is Rev Bruce Genge, rector of Old St. Paul’s Church, Woodstock.

Rector is Rev. Jim K. Carr. H.E. (Ted) Winter was ordained a deacon (non stipendiary) with special responsibilities for outreach ministry at St. James’ on January 31, 2008.
The first services for St. James’ parish were held in the schoolhouse in 1834. The present church building was built in 1868. The congregation now numbers 250 families and individuals. For more information see

June 1st, 2007 Rev. Bill Ward was appointed rector of St. John’s, Tillsonburg and St. Stephen’s, Culloden. Previously, he was the rector of Trivitt Memorial, Exeter and St. John-by-the-Lake, Grand Bend, Ontario. Deacon is Rev Deacon Vermell Stevens, who was ordained at St John’s on May 14, 2006 by Bishop Bruce Howe.
Shown right is the Centennial Quilt from 2000. Past rectors’ names are embroidered on squares around the perimeter Members of the St. John’s congregation purchased a square of the quilt, on which their names were embroidered. Funds raised were used to support the cost of various centennial celebrations throughout the year.

Old St Paul’s Church was completed in 1834 with the chancel added in 1843 and the transepts in 1851.
The church was to have been closed when a new St Paul’s was built in 1879 but discontentment among some of the parishioners had a portion of the congregation return to the building in 1882. New St Paul’s became the Church of the Epiphany in 2006.
