The present brick building was erected in 1861 replacing a building that had burned to the ground the previous year. The beams and timbers, as well as the choir stalls and the pulpit were hand hewn from the red pine that grew locally.

St. Luke’s is part of a 3-point charge along with Trinity Anglican Church in Port Burwell and Trinity Church in Aylmer. Rev. Adele Miles has been incumbant since May 2007.

Rev’d Gary Nicolosi

The Rev’d Gary Nicolosi will be inducted as Rector of St. James Westminster at a choral evensong on Sunday, September 19th at 4pm.

The Ven. June Hough, Archdeacon of Erie, will officiate and induct Gary on behalf of the Bishop.

St. John the Evangelist Chapel

The Collegiate Chapel of St. John the Evangelist was built in the early 1950′s to replace a building that had been built in the 1860′s. The pews face one another and the chapel can seat up to 160 people including the balcony.

The chapel is always available for prayer or meditation. Regular services every week are:

St Anne’s Church, Byron

St. Anne’s is a lovely stone church built in 1853. The parish hall was built in the 1950s and has seen several major renovations, the most recent being in 1996. It is in use almost every night.

Byron is in the southwest part of London. The area was annexed by the City of London in 1961.

Sunday Services:
8:30 a.m. Book of Common Prayer
10:00 a.m. Holy Communion from the Book of Alternate Services with Morning Prayer typically held on the third Sunday.

Clergy: Rev’d Canon Janet Lynall and Rev’d Deacon Ken Brooks.

Shown is the “Christ Ascending To Heaven” window above the altar, installed in 1937 in memory of Archibald M. Kains and his wife, Mary Hicks. Archie was a pioneer member of St. Anne’s Church, and worked hard to accomplish the rebuilding of the neglected little chapel in 1877 and to have it properly consecrated by Bishop Isaac Hellmuth in 1878.
